In the last couple of hours before the family left this morning, LiveWire T wanted to do a bit more on her embroidery.
Spring is on the way! We have Tete a Tete daffodils, Iris Reticulata and Snowdrops brightening the back garden.
Happy Valentine’s Day to all my readers. This is the 50th Valentine’s Day that the lovely Mr S and I have been together!

Congratulations on 50 years together! We will hit the 45 year mark in August.
My husband, who takes a dim view of a day devoted to “love” in the guise of “consumerism”, surprised me this morning with a dozen red roses and a lovely poem of yours that perfectly expresses his feelings:
ANOTHER VALENTINE
Today we are obliged to be romantic
And think of yet another valentine.
We know the rules and we are both pedantic:
Today’s the day we have to be romantic.
Our love is old and sure, not new and frantic.
You know I’m yours and I know you are mine.
And saying that has made me feel romantic,
My dearest love, my darling valentine.
Despite his distaste for organized romanticism, Bill is not unromantic; he just prefers to express his feelings on his own terms. The dear man commits random acts of sentiment throughout the year, surprising me with flowers, chocolate, or little gifts. I also prefer this to receiving a heart-shaped box of candy because he feels obligated by social pressure to provide a token of his affection.
Thanks for inadvertently making my day.
