2 The other day I saw a wonderful pattern for a hat and cowl set by The Velvet Acorn. I bought it online and started knitting!
Knitting pattern for The Caitlynn Cat Set
I’ve been knitting off and on since and have finished it today. I am delighted with it and can’t wait to see T wearing it. Those of you who follow my blog will know that T, our 22 month old Grandbaby, loves hats. She is still wearing her Christmas tree hat! Hope she loves this set as much as I do!
Cat Hat and Cowl for T, made with love
3 I fell in love the first time we went to America – with Kokopelli! He is a mythical figure whose images date back over 3,000 years ago, when the first petroglyphs were carved. He is a sacred figure to many Southwestern Native Americans. Carvings of this hunch-backed flute-playing figure have been found painted and carved into rock walls and boulders throughout the Southwest. We saw his likeness on a wonderful ancient rock and bought this piece of stone from a North American Indian who was sitting at the side of the road painting. Kokopelli is seen as a source of music making and dancing, and spreads joy to those around him. I’m sure you can understand why I love him and why we have a good number of images in our home, including on our doorbell to welcome all those who come to our door.

Seems to be two definitions out there. The one i know is “a journey within,” but i saw another recently which said “a journey up.” Either way, it feels good off the tongue.

Discombobulated is one of my favorites, too! My most favorite word is defenestrate.
That hat and cowl is amazing! I’m going to buy the pattern so my mom can make them for Trinity. She already has a pattern for paw print fingerless gloves that would go perfect with these!

It makes me laugh that there’s such a fancy word for that!

So cute…the cat hat and cowl…I too am drawn to the figure making his music…but, don’t have any…maybe something to look for on my thrift store hunts…and my favorite words…hmmm…Do I have any??? I’m sure I do…but, can’t think of them right now…probably too tired…almost bedtime…

One of my favorite words is alleluia.
Kokopelli is the name of an association that does heirloom seeds here in France.

I wonder why they chose that name? Maybe after his reputation for spreading his seed in every community he visited!! One of the legends about him says that after he visited “every maiden in the village was with child”

Serendipity is also one of my favourite words, along with ubiquitous and fandabbydozy 🙂 I agree, your version of the hat set is much nicer that the pattern picture! Here’s an idea for a blog post, take all the favourite words you are given and write a post including all of them 😉
