Plants, Automata and Pancake Day

04 Mar

What a beautiful day in every way! The sun shone and the sky was blue. I met friends at Community Roots where we potted on lots of celery and celeriac, admired our growing tomato plants and laughed along with the team. Later I visited the Contraptions exhibition, we met two enthusiastic young gardeners, a friend called round with some books to swap and finally I made pancakes, both savoury stuffed and, to finish, Crêpes Suzettes.

Salad leaves

Baby tomatoes, many varieties

We have a couple of Esther Smith’s pieces – I love her work.

The last remnants of the pancake batter made a rather pretty lacy pancake pattern.

That’s what one of the inventors tried to do. If only it could really work. 🙂

I wish I could just press and release a button when I’ve had enough of Trump! 😀

Absolutely! I loved playing with that one, stopping him in his tracks and willing that to be so!

How wonderful your seeds are growing. Wow, I planted flower seeds yesterday in our greenhouse. We also put tomato seeds in and lots more.
I have to do my lettuce too.

Both joy and hope in the planting of seeds. That is one of the special joys of Roots as the seeds always get going so quickly in the propagator and in the poly tunnel. 🙂

Left over batter – art des crêpes.
The last Ester Smith piece – une machine à remonter le temps musicale…kinda.
Daffodils for the Ukraine – very nice, better than that yahoo would send, you know to whom I am referring to.

I do recognise your reference – what an horrific individual. Flowers for Ukraine are the best I can do but they go with love.
Happy that you liked my art des crêpes!
The tulip piece was a delight, as are all Esther’s creations.
      🙂
