I love this book so much. I have used it in classrooms so many times and it always makes the children smile. The author, Evelyn (Eve) Mary Sutton, came from Lancashire but moved to New Zealand in her 40s. She wrote this book and it was illustrated by her cousin (in law) Lynley Dodd who went on to write and illustrate all of the Hairy Maclary series of books. It was Eve’s first, and only, illustrated book although she did write others. Both Eve and Lynley were also teachers. Thanks for highlighting this book.
