Sadness, Butterfly and Nearly Full Moon

24 Aug

I am feeling really sad this evening having heard of the death of Charlie Watts, drummer of the Rolling Stones.  This article touched me as he is remembered by so many musicians and others.. Down at the Lottie tonight I found myself in tears. Who knew that a Stone could ever die?

Looking in a nearby nursery for a replacement plant for a very untidy Tree Heather, we were taken by White Buddleia, the butterfly bush, when one landed and stayed long enough to have its photo taken.

I finally got a picture of the full moon, a day late so not quite full,  but still very lovely.

The Stones rocked to Charlie’s beat.
    A fabulous drummer.

    Worry not, he’ll keep Roll’n.

I have a purple butterfly bush here NS. You cannot kill them, so it seems.

    Dramatic, and alluring your moonie.

And we will keep on rocking to their music played too loudly! I do love the Butterfly Bush but as HeyJude says, it does get straggly. Glad you liked my moonshot through the tree.

        Why you little rocker you.

I thought my butterfly bush was a goner. But when I was here in October I hacked it back to ground. Cut off all the dead stuff. This year when I got here it looks pretty healthy.

Yeh, one of the original Stones. Sad news. Did you buy the buddleia then? I find them to be straggly bushes/trees too.

We didn’t. I’d have had one but Mr S doesn’t like straggly! Their music will live on and our memories of seeing them all together in live concerts.
