They do and all recorded by my Dear Mum so that we know when and where she bought each one – at the Flea Market in Truro or visiting family in Atlanta or Munich – so much family history to be shared out! 🙂

You could even start a Thimble museum with it! One of a kind!

We did in fact offer them to Truro Museum but they only wanted the “Cornish’ ones so now we have shared them out between siblings. 🙂

That is a shame, but at least they stay in the family now! ♥

I agree – looks like a lily beetle and you need to find it / them and get rid quickly!!

Lilly Beetle, Sally.
Most gardeners will recommend that if you want to keep your lilies, then remove them gently (else they always drop to the floor and hide), then, squash them underfoot!

Thank you! Our red beetle is no more and we will watch carefully for others. 🙂

Diane is right – Lily beetle. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scarlet_lily_beetle
And seeing the pasty has made me hungry. I think I shall place an order to our ”chef”.
Pasties would be perfect for the final game of the season on Sunday!

Hi Sally, I think it’s a Lilly beetle, if this is in your garden and you have lilies it will have a feast …
