I love how dead Hydrangea flowers are so delicate and still so lovely. Appropriately I found this one in St Euny Churchyard in among the Bluebells. It is Earth Day today and here is a beautiful poem celebrating nature by Rudyard Kipling, “The Way Through The Woods”. What a lyrical evocation of the beauty to be found….
THEY shut the road through the woods Seventy years ago. Weather and rain have undone it again, And now you would never know There was once a path through the woods Before they planted the trees: It is underneath the coppice and heath, And the thin anemones.
