This sums up my day!
2 The rain finally stopped this afternoon and the winds have calmed down. Many plants have been beaten onto the ground and will need sunshine to lift their spirits. This Lupin has lived up to its name The Governor!
3 There are now a few Tradescantia flowers. This one is called Sweet Kate.

I need vitamin C & D pretty please. I love the colour of Sweet Kate. Do you know of a flowering plant or shrub called Eileen? My sister has a roundy birthday coming up in a couple of months time and ‘Sweet Kate’ set me thinking …

I’m sorry, I don’t but I’ve been thinking about a project my Mum worked on in the garden and that was to have a plant named for each member of the ever growing family. I do have a little book calledPlant That Name so I shall look for Eileen. 🙂

Your Sweet Kate looks like what we call Spiderwort in my neck of the woods (New England). Sweet Kate is a much more lovely name!
