A Plaque, A Tree and The Bench

04 Jun

I was thinking about my Mum today as I do many days, today especially because it is 32 years since she died. We visited her and dad’s bench this afternoon and sat and listened to the stream behind as it chortled its way down the valley. Mum loved any stream so the bench is perfectly situated.

Loved this tree seen from the bench.

It really pleased me to see the mark of someone’s  drink on the arm of the bench. We really wanted walkers around this lovely area to enjoy taking a rest with my lovely Mum and Dad.

I love this photo of me with my lovely Mum, taken in Carn Brea Castle in 1989 on the occasion of Mum and Dad’s Golden Wedding.

How wonderful. I am thinking of my mum today, as it would be her 99th Birthday. She always loved to go to Dubrovnik and on this day I am here in Dubrovnik living mum’s dream. We had lunch in a beautiful restaurant with a Piano player, just as she would have loved it. I’m sure she can see/feel it from above. ❤️💕

I love the idea of the bench and the plaque.

Thank you. I really wanted to honour both my parents who were not only very special to me but also did their bit in the world, Dad with his writing and the work he did as a much loved headteacher and Mum for her remarkable work with deaf babies. There’s also room for a plaque to be added for me and my lovely Mr S when the time comes!! 🙂

I am sure that will be a considerable distance away.
Have you ever written about your Mum’s work?
She sounds like a true gem.
