Apple Tree, Chicken and Damsons

01 Jul

We decided that the Apple tree we bought in May will grow to be too big for our garden so we have given it to friends to add to their developing orchard.

Their chickens live in the orchard and I just loved the feather pattern on this one.

There was some disappointment that the Damson tree was not producing fruit yet and then delight as many were spotted but you’ll have to look hard to see them.

How old is your damson tree? We inherited a plum tree in poor condition which is slowly returning to health. But our ‘tree man’ tells us plum trees rarely fruit in Cornwall; it’s very hit and miss. So the thought of a damson tree is very tempting!

The tree belongs to friends. I think they said they planted it about9 years ago and this is the first year that it has fruited. Kea Plums do very well in Cornwall, a speciality indeed, and are delicious. 🙂

Thank you! I am looking into key (kea?) plums – I’m sure we can make room for one 🙂

Of course, Kea Plums! I knew it didn’t look right! Thank you – I have edited the comment. 🙂
