It is time to pass some of these heirlooms on.
The old wooden trunk was my Dad’s. He trundled his books from Britain to Egypt to Bechuanaland in the Second World War and it is has another life now as a toy chest. Some of the toys in it were mine, many were our children’s and some are new for the Grand-babies.

Lucky grand-kids. My mother threw away all our toys when we didn’t play with them anymore and she lost all her own toys during the war. I’ve saved a few of my own children’s toys. I think I’m going to be glad that I did.

Heirlooms are so special, especially when they have stories attached. x
