Catching up with my birthday week:
30/12/25
We hired a wonderful place for the family at Trengove Farm near Portreath for a whole week. They arrived at Hellfire Jack’s a beautiful converted barn sleeping 10 and Burgess, a cottage sleeping 4 and got themselves settled in. Daughter no 2 and LiveWire 3 arrived early and set about the cooking (veggie chilli for tonight and Lime and Ginger Cheesecake for the party) that I had been unable to get on with having been bowled over by a virus since December 23rd.
31/12/25
Instead of traditional birthday breakfast, we all 14 met up at the excellent Chapelporth Beach Cafe for brunch, me in so many layers I looked like the Michelin man! It was wonderful to meet up with all our children, their partners and our LiveWires.
our lovely no 2 daughter waited until we all had our drinks and Croques and then climbed onto one of the benches and announced to the very long queue that it was my 80th birthday, that I wasn’t well and would they please all sing Happy Birthday and they did!
My lovely Mr S and I went home to rest and then joined everyone at Hellfire Jack’s for supper (The birthday party was postponed for a day in the hope that I would feel better.)
