Etheree – Frilly Poppy

A blog I recently discovered is Amy’s whose poetry I find inspiring. She has introduced me to the Etheree which she found at Hedgewitch at Imaginary Garden With Real Toads.  Hedgewitch offered up a form challenge: the etheree. … one syllable, two syllables… on up to ten. You can even take ten, go back to nine, and down to one to for a reverse or double etheree. Amy added to the challenge by making the subject something ethereal too.  Here’s mine.

Pink
poppy
all curl’d up
tightly cover’d
opening slowly
magnificent colour
feathery frilly mop head
Gorgeous in its brash gaudiness
Beckoning to nectar hungry bees
Blooming beautifully for just one day.

I was just going to comment that I didn’t know you had a poetry page and when I scrolled down I saw that I had already commented this in January of 2015.

I can’t believe it. I am still impressed with the poem. 😉

I love the etheree form. It is harder than it looks, especially if you attempt a double!

I must get back to my poems. There is just so much to be doing! I’ll try the double when I have time. Thank you for the follow. 🙂

I wasn’t even aware you had a poetry page……..and there it is at the top of your blog. I think it is because we just don’t have time to see and read everything. By the time we write our own, get through the Reader and try to spend a wee bit of time off the computer ( lol ) the day is done and we start all over. You run circles around me with all you do and accomplish!!!
I like the Etheree poem and the picture goes so well with it. 🙂

Thank you! I agree with us not being able to read all we’d like to. You amaze me with what you achieve every day with poems and songs! 🙂

Update: I just posted a Etheree. lol Thanks for leading me to this kind of poem. 🙂 Thought I would try it while it was fresh on my mind. So forgetful here anymore. 🙁
Maybe it was just beginner’s luck that it worked out. 🙂

Hardly beginner’s luck, much more likely a special talent! Ther’s an intriguing story starting here…. 🙂
