A friend sent me this beautiful piece of Nature’s art from inside his conservatory window.
Walking on the frozen sand today was a new experience. It made walking on the beach much easier than normal!
The video shows water flowing under the ice on Porthtowan Beach – listen to the waves behind me rolling onto the beach
A local creek was frozen over too.

I bet some of Cornwall’s more tender plants have suffered this week. And those surfers must be mad! Although the sea was probably warmer than on land.

They had to walk on frozen sand to get to the water. I agree, completely mad! I expect the Echiums will suffer though will hope some may make it.

Thank you so much. I was so glad it worked and conveyed the magic of the stream flowing underneath the ice and all accompanied by the soughing of the sea. 🙂

Brrr . . . those folks in wet suits have far more fortitude than me.

More than me too! We have friends (and a daughter) who swim with no wet suits, who break the ice before they go in! They say it makes them feel marvellous but it’s not something I would join in with……. 🙂
