Feather, Reds and Kalettes

17 Nov

A lovely white feather floated down in front of us onto the fallen leaves on our walk past the churchyard this afternoon.

Towards the end of our walk we passed the lovely red tree that has been the slowest to turn.

We had our first kalettes of the season this evening, freshly picked from the allotment. I steam them in their washing water in Β garlicky butter and they are very delicious.

Never heard of kalettes. They look like baby swiss chard.

They are sometimes called Flower Sprouts but are much tastier than sprouts. πŸ™‚
