Wind, Rain and Rainbow Glass

19 Feb

A couple of videos today of our wild weather –  the big fir tree where many birds hang out and next door’s Camellia and Tree Fern being buffeted about. The wind has been about 30mph all day with gusts in the 50s. We’re expecting much the same tomorrow.

My Rainbow glass looks very pretty with the mini tree lights behind it.

I bought our Daffodils eight days ago and they are still giving us joy.

We’re having high winds too, up to 40 mph yesterday. Looks like late February is not the best time to visit Cornwall. Your glass looks terrific with the light and the garden in the background.

You are right about the time to visit though March is windy too! May and September are the best months, pretty hedges, decent weather and, until lockdown, fewer visitors. Lockdown seemed to bring everyone out ! June is to be avoided this year as the G7 is taking place around St Ives and I think people will be in Falmouth too. 🙂

They are lasting so well! I’ve ordered more for next Thursday’s delivery as I think they will be gone by then. We are warmer too but the wind and rain just seem to go on for ever with the odd sunny day about once a week! 🙂

Me too, with thunder and lightening but this is just relentless 40 mph winds howling and rain at impossible angles – none of the fun or drama of a truly good storm. 🙂

Come spend a summer in Brazil, you’ll be spoiled rotten.

There’s something about wind that can really affect your mood and not in a good way. Hopefully those beautiful daffodils will keep your spirits uplifted until the winds pass.

True. When we were teaching we always dreaded windy days as the children would become quite crazy and less easy to be with! The winds continue and the indoor bunch have gone but the sturdy little Tete a tete are bringing us joy. 🙂
