Inauguration Evening Dress, Sky and Snowdrops

22 Jan
This beautiful embroidered dress is such a gentle reminder of the positivity and sincerity of the First Lady. I love too that she is a teacher.
The following is taken from a Facebook post this morning:
“Dr. Jill Biden’s Inauguration Evening Dress had flowers from all 50 States plus the US territories embroidered on it, with the flower of Delaware sewn near her heart and the other flowers branching out from it. What a lovely message from a lovely woman.
ETA: “Inside of the coat, representing the lifelong calling and service of Dr. Biden as an educator is a hand embroidery on the lining with a quote from Founding Father Benjamin Franklin:
“Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.”’
The materials used were existing available fabrics to minimize the impact on the environment.”

The skies were so beautifully blue today, the moon already risen and the apricity so lovely – until the black clouds came over and the hailstorm  swirled around us with the sharp hail bits stinging our faces!
In St Euny Graveyard, on our route down Church Lane on the way to the Great Flat Lode, the Snowdrops are blooming.

Love the quote. Was something I always endeavoured to do with my kids. In the main, it seems to have worked out pretty well. Now I’m having oodles of fun with young Catherine when she and her mum pop over.
No sooner has she entered the house and said hello does she ask: ”Douglas, are we going to the garden?” Yesterday we planted out a few chilli seedlings and some small lemon trees.
She pointed to a tomato plant that is coming along nicely and announced: ”That one’s mine, hey?”

    She makes me laugh.

I really miss our little people! (Lockdown and not allowed to travel or have visitors) It’s a real joy to read about Catherine. How old is she? 🙂

She turned 7. Hard to believe where the time has gone, and we’ve baked seven birthday cakes for her already. The years have flown by.

They do don’t they? Our LiveWire no 4 is 7 years old, such a delightful enquiring age. 🙂

I left a reply some time ago but don’t see it. About the lovely Jill B. and the beautiful coats. So very stylish.

I just found this and your comments about the outfit in the spam. I have no idea why since all your other, much appreciated comments, pop up in the right place. 🙂

It probably is saying, “Let somebody else have a chance to comment.” lol
I’ve had some comments by others end up in spam too. I don’t always look there. Gremlins!

Jill Biden is going to be …. well already is …. an inspiration.
The coats were beautiful. I am so out of style ….. never thought how a coat could be so much of an outfit.
I wanted to see the outfit under the coat. lol
Don’t have much need for a coat where I live.
