Stamps, Hydrangea and A Visit

05 Sep

Posting cards to Spain for upcoming birthdays, I was able to get the lovely Rupert Bear stamps.

At the garden centre buying for our new border, I was taken with the colours of this Hydrangea bloom.

Daughter No 1 who lives near Exeter, has been with us for the day, helping with winterising the boat and then with digging for our new border. It is just so special to have her here  – lockdown was hard on everybody.

This border is no more!

The colors on the hydrangea are striking indeed. Don’t know if I’d want them in my yard, though. I like the electric blue ones best.

I like the blue ones too and the cream ones that are really lacy. 🙂

Seems everyone is in clear out mode! Is that a tangutica clematis on the trellis? It’s huge! And fabulous.

Yes, it was Bill Mackenzie but it had taken over the whole bed, rooting itself all the way along and crowding out everything else (also annoying the neighbours as, however many times we trimmed it, it climbed over their shed and into their garden!). So, we are starting again! Watch this space! 🙂

Oh, sounds like a bit of a thug. A bit like a wild clematis! Pity, as it is very pretty.
