Dinner Out, Nemesia and Clematis

09 May

We went out for dinner tonight! We ordered from our local pub earlier in the week, collected from a totally safe table outside and enjoyed a wonderful dinner at home with the table beautifully set and us, dressed for dinner! The drive through the lush Cornish lanes was such a treat. We haven’t been down that lane for more than ten weeks.

I collected Nemesia and put them in a beautiful little Nicky pot to decorate the dining table. There are always flowers on the tables in the pub when we really do eat out.

The evening sunshine, where we sat out with a glass of wine, lit up the Nelly Moser Clematis.

Nice that you even dressed for that special dinner. Dressing for dinner around our house usually means getting out of our pjs. You have so many pretty flowers to arrange!

It did make it a bit special and the garden is looking good – in anticipation of your visit in a few weeks, if only………..

I took a circuitouis route through St Ives yesterday on my shopping trip, just to get a glimpse of the beaches! And it was such a lovely day too for a paddle on the shoreline. Sigh…

BTW I made your feta and courgette muffins yesterday. I used wholemeal SR flour as it was the only thing I had in the cupboard, and I noticed on the recipe you don’t mention how much feta to use. I doubled up the ingredients as I have a large muffin tray and added 3/4 block of feta. I worried they might not rise too well, but they have come out beautifully. Next time I might sprinkle the tops with Parmesan. Thank you for sharing this recipe!

Thank you for that note on my missing out the Feta – no-one else has ever commented! I’ve edited the recipe. It’s 1/2 a block or 100g. Thanks again! 🙂

It was fun, surprisingly exciting to go out in the car, if only for 8 mins each way! It was a lovely treat! 🙂

I can imagine. Funny how we really enjoy those little things now we took as normal before.
