Just a short walk today as the weather is very murky and I have spent the day sewing for Cornwall Scrubs. We went down the road, through the park, along Church Lane and then Lovers’ lane where we foraged for Wild Garlic Leaves which I stir-fried to go with our Jerk seasoned Basa. On the fence between us and Sue-next-door is a beautiful Akebia Quinata, now flowering. 
These flowers are tiny, maybe 1cm across.

I foraged some wild garlic leaves and made wild garlic and cheddar scones. They were delicious. I don’t count myself as a baker, but these were so easy and delicious. Basically a scone mixture with grated cheddar cheese and the liquid was a bit of live yogurt & milk blended with the leaves. Served with a mustardy cream/marscapone cheese. So lucky to be able to forage and exercise simultaneously. I hope you are safe and well and happy, and singing and sewing, and all the other things you enjoy that make for a good life, even in the time of Co-vid, I bumped into Sam from your choir the other day and we talked of you and your inspirational zest for life. I wonder if your ears were burning, in a very good way?

I loved that idea and before replying went out to forage some more! The scones are just out of the oven and smell amazing. Funny you should meet Sam. I wonder how he is enjoying our email lessons with videos and mp3s. I love it all but it feels very lonely to be singing without all the harmonies. Love that you love my zest for life and thank you for such a lovely long comment! 🙂

I do love seeing your photos of Cornish lanes with their special ‘hedges’. The wild garlic season is a scent of spring … and so tasty too 🙂

We hadn’t eaten it before – it’s really tasty, especially stir fried. We’ll have to go and gather some more. 🙂
