Raindrops, Today’s Walk and Sourdough

06 Apr

I love photographing raindrops as regular readers will know. Here is a tulip from this morning.

On today’s walk up on the Great Flat Lode, we took a different route, as we can every time we go up there. There are so many different tracks, every day can be different.

Raindrops on Gorse flowers

We baked our first sourdough loaf today. The crust was delicious but the middle too heavy and doughy. We won’t give up!

    Love the ”tunnel” shot.
    That bread looks delicious.
We did a face call with Mrs R and young Catherine the other day and showed them how to make bread.
Well, Mrs R made the bread and 6 year old Catherine pointed out what she had to do. It was a blast.
And her bread, well, rolls actually turned out a treat.

Oh yes, with you on the gods blessing the technology! Face calls with family are actually more frequent now than they were which is a big silver lining. Glad those rolls turned out well.
The crust was delicious but the inside heavy and stodgy. Sadly, I can’t really afford to experiment much more as flour is very hard to come by.
The walk to the Flat Lode has so many routes and all with different aspects so I don’t think we’ll get bored. Are you on total lockdown or are you allowed out for a walk as we are? 🙂

No walking allowed. Technically speaking. Though I see a few folk ”footing it”. I suspect that have no other means pf transport.
We’ve only been out in the car to the shops and to the vet.
I do my morning constitutional around the garden for 40 mins to an hour.

Aren’t we lucky to have gardens? I can’t imagine what life is like in a flat right now. All the best to you and yours. Stay safe. 🙂

A friend of ours is trying sourdough. They have been feeding it about a week now only to find they need a Dutch oven to cook it in. How did you cook yours?
