Invictus Trust, Eggs and Mini Eggs

20 Feb

My choir, The Suitcase Singers, collects for two charities each year. This year our local one has been The Invictus Trust, a Cornish charity set up to help youngsters with mental health problems. Please do click on the red link to read more about one family’s wonderful work in memory of their son and brother.

When their hens are laying, we get delicious fresh eggs from our Dear friends, today in a delightful 4 eggs container.

It was a day for a treat, some mini-eggs!

We have five hens and we normally are the grateful recipients of three or four eggs most days.
Love the four egg box. Never seen one of these before.

Lovely little boxes aren’t they? We love getting fresh eggs from local hens but sadly can’t keep them ourselves.

We’ve had ours for eighteen months already and they are now very much part of the family.
It’s a feature of the day seeing five feathered dinosaurs legging it around the garden!

I love your description of your birds! Do they scrub up the grass, the plants? I would love to have our own fresh eggs. 🙂

Grass, no. The plants – some of them. They have a tendency to have a go at my veggies so we have to be alert when they are having their afternoon run around.
”Home made” eggs are smashing and if the hens are content they lay regularly and the eggs are usually a good size.

I am sure the support of charities like the Invictus Trust is invaluable to families whose young people are in units hundreds of miles from home – a very worthwhile cause.
