Cornish Buses, Carving and A Pillowcase

22 Aug

Our buses have charming slogans on the back and today we saw a new one.

The car park in Camborne has delightful carving of local plants.

What a quiet day! Everyone has left and we have spent the day washing bedding and towels and missing everyone. Here is the pillowcase from the lovely ‘cats in sneakers’ bedding set we use for the LiveWires.

You definitely need to be Cornish to understand a lot of this slang/dialect! And I thought Yorkshire was a lazy form of speech!

The lady who carved those lovely panels also did a beautiful stone leaf sculpture which was in our garden across the road. Her workshop is up at Four Lanes

How lovely! Did you take the sculpture with you? I shall seek out her workshop. Can you tell me her name? 🙂

Paul took the sculpture as it was a birthday present to him. I can’t remember the name sadly but if you go through Four Lanes towards Falmouth there is a carved wooden gatepost on your right after the village but before the right turn to Troon, and it’s down that road right at the bottom. A very beautiful setting and she was delightful
