Six on Saturday – After July Rain

20 Jul

The garden has been parched for weeks so the heavy rain of the last couple of days has been very welcome, except where it has beaten flowers down, showing us too (as the Propagator confesses) to be too sanguine about staking the tall plants. Reminder to self – do better next year!   I love the photographic opportunity that raindrops provide.

4.  Agapanthus – these are having the most amazing year. We have at least 30 blooms on their way.

Flowers with raindrops always look lovely and fresh. I have Clematis Warsaw Nike, but it was in a pot and not growing well as root bound, I managed to free it this spring and have replanted it into my Cornish hedge – here’s hoping it does as well as yours! I also had some red nasturtiums, they are so lovely, but none have reappeared this year yet.

What a great idea to get out and take photographs straight after the rain – they all look so beautiful.
