World Book Day, Buds and Narcissi

07 Mar

I love the idea of World Book Day

I would nominate The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle for littl’uns and Stig of the Dump by Clive King for 7-9 year olds.

We have buds on our Cornus. It’s looking better than in previous years so we are hoping there is no bitterly cold spell to come. They are opening rather early……

Cornus Controversa Variegata

These Narcissi are beautiful, in the walled garden just outside the kitchen, and they make me smile.

These books look really great, judging by the titles and covers. Your flowers are so beautiful. 🙂

Thank you. In my mind, every child should grow up with these stories! 🙂

Definitely agree about your two chosen books. Love them both! As a teacher and then headteacher they were books I loved to read to pupils.

My nominations would be : The Truth – Terry Pratchett & The Helliconia Trilogy – Brian Aldiss.

The Narcissi are ”beauts” as the Aussies say.

I love Terry Pratchett too and much of Brian Aldiss though I don’t know that trilogy. 🙂

It is a marvelous tale and I highly recommend it. I don’t want to sy much as there’s a risk of spoilers.
        A>n epic science fiction story.
