Look what turned up this morning as we were standing near a stream!

The roadside verges near Penzance were thick with Daffodils.

We managed to get to Truro in time to show our support for the hundreds of young people on strike from school to protest about climate change and the fact that not enough is being done to protect their futures. It was inspirational to see so many so committed to the cause.

I admire these young people and you too for showing your support. There has been so much talk among but too little action by the world’s politicians to this gigantic threat to life on earth. It’s splendid that the young people have seized the moment and made themselves seen and heard. What a wonderful example of our future being in safe hands.

We also have Blue Heron in our area. They are a treat to see in person!

I’ve only ever seen them in the distance or flying before now. I hadn’t realised quite how beautiful they are. 🙂

Man made climate change is a colossal issue and I sometimes feel somewhat overwhelmed by all the aggro that has been stirred up.
I have found it better for me to look inward in the sense of doing small meaningful things that I can see make a noticeable difference to my immediate surroundings/lifestyle.
When one realizes the amount of plastic that is dumped in the oceans each year for example, it is enough to sent you dilly!
So now I try to use as little plastic as possible and where we can’t seem to get away with using it, re-cyle or reuse.
It isn’t much but it is at least something.

I’m with you there, Ark. I feel overwhelmed too and we do our bit with the small things as much as we can and I’m thinking of getting an electric car – any thing that helps but I do find it overwhelming. (And, what with Brexit too, finding the beautiful things becomes more important every day.)
All my siblings live a plane flight away so I can’t stop flying which bothers me……
A fortunate sighting indeed – never seen one so close before. 🙂

I saw an episode of Top Gear once that made a mockery of the wisdom of buying an electric car on the grounds of what it cost to mine the nickel batteries, the subsequent pollution, and also the fossil fuel required to produce the electricity!
You simply can’t win it seems!

Really? Seems I might have to research this rather more before I make a decision. I love my little Beetle convertible so changing it at all isn’t an easy decision. If an electric car isn’t such a good idea, I might just keep my beautiful little car for 15 more years! 🙂
