Books, Clouds and The Nearly Home Trees

27 Nov

We took a couple of books with us for the Grandbabies (who are now 20 months and not babies at all so LiveWires 5 and 6) and then took LiveWire No 1 shopping in Granollers to choose her own good read. She chose a Wimpy Kid book, stories also loved by her English cousin, LiveWire No 2. We also found more books for the little ones in Catalan and English. These are children who, like their big sister, are growing up speaking Wolof, English and Catalan (and later Spanish too!) It is brilliant to hear them understanding all three languages and responding.

Flying home today was almost entirely fog bound but then the clouds broke up for a few moments and we could see the snow-covered mountains.

Over the Pyrenees

If you read my blog regularly you will have seen similar photos before.  All of us who leave Cornwall for whatever length of time and then drive back in, look forward to our first glimpse of the Nearly Home Trees which signals our return to our beloved Cornwall. This was taken at speed!

We love this copse in Devon, just before the border into Cornwall, that signals we are nearly home.

I love the term … ”Nearly Home Trees.”
    Everyone should have some.

Yes, they should. They are uplifting at the end of a long journey and give you energy at the point when you are flagging. 🙂
