An accident on the A30 and a road closure meant that Daughter No3 and her Daughter, LiveWire No4, returned after saying goodbye two hours previously so we managed an extra afternoon on the beach which was a special delight, being so unexpected.
B helped to harvest our first carrot, somewhat curly and very tasty.

A veggie I have yet to be able to grow.
A wiggly carrot is supposed to be a sign of hard, compacted soil or stones … or something along these lines.

Yes, they have done that before when we have tried to grow them. I had hoped that in the veggie trough, with fresh soil, never trodden on or compacted, things might be different. We’ll see what the rest of the crops like. 🙂
