Gnomes, Flowers and A Poem

13 Jun

On the walk to school, always delightful chatting to the LiveWires, we pass by a garden full of golden gnomes and other ornaments.

Golden gnome garden

Outside one of the coffee shops are a pair of planters.

LiveWire No3 is practising for a Poetry Slam next week. This is her poem –

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall
Eating black bananas
Where do you think he put the skins?
Down the King’s pyjamas!

That is a beautiful planter, of course, I’m partial to flowers in the pansy family. Gnomes have never been my thing, but they do bring a smile in other people’s landscaping plans.

Gnomes are not my thing either but the garden amused me and the LiveWires. 🙂

Those gnomes are just begging to go on a world tour.

Australians are notorious for it. A friend of mine from school took a local gnome on a world tour, and even sent postcards to it’s owner 🙂

What a fun thing to do! It reminds me of HayBear, mascot at the school I taught at for 25 years, who was given into the care of a member of staff each end of term assembly. He was then taken where ever the member of staff was going for the break and photos shared! Thanks for the memory. 🙂
