Bridge, River and Pain au Chocolat

11 Jun

We have crossed The Tamar on the Brunel Bridge, left Cornwall and come to London for four days. I love how the boats all line up un the river which today was so very still. We met T, LiveWire No 3, from school and took her to our favourite cafe, Joie de Vie, for a treat.

just checked – it was the Thames tunnel which became part of the LOndon Underground eventually… his son was badly injured during construction, and Brunel himself nearly killed, along with several valuable miners…

Oh my, these constructions were so dangerous. We have travelled over the bridge again today, always very, very slowly and I thought of your comment here which I read the other day but couldn’t respond to, too busy with liveWires! Thank you for the info. 🙂

What an amazing man Brunel was… watched a documentary on him and his son recently… and what they went through building London Bridge, I think it was, over about thirty years ( may have got the wrong bridge – will have to check !!!
