Macro, Mini and A Singer

27 Mar

I love getting really close up photos of flowers and raindrops. The Fritillaria Meleagris flower held the drops beautifully.

We went to visit an old friend today who asked us to bring nothing but I picked this mini bouquet of little flowers from our garden and she loved them.  I took them in a little jam jar so that she didn’t need to be bothered finding a vase.

While Mr S was looking for jeans in a shop in Truro today, I discovered this beautiful old Singer sewing machine on the floor.

Love the little bouquet. I like them simple and natural like that. And the sewing machine is a stunner!

Yes, I coveted that little machine! Shame it is just a decorative item on the floor and I bet most customers don’t even spot it. I had to push some shirt sleeves out of the way for my photo. What a waste!

I had a beautifully decorated Froissart and Rossman sewing machine years ago. Why can’t modern ones have some decoration? Why are washing machines , fridges etc so very dull?

It is a shame, isn’t it, that things are so plain and unadorned? Maybe that’s why our fridge is covered in pretty magnetic things! 🙂

As Mary says, what a shame that things are so plain nowadays. We need to call for more colour in our lives – and indeed, to make the colour happen as Mary, an artist, does! 🙂

The first shot is delightful, and the Singer!
My mother had one of those. She may still have it, in fact.
That one looks in pretty good nick, too.

My Mum had one like it too though not decorated with beautiful Egyptian style paintings. I learned to machine sew using it. 🙂
