A fabulous sing today in honour of International Women’s day, singing ‘March of the Women’ by Ethel Smythe and C.Hamilton and ‘Oxygen’ by Claire Ingleheart and Natalie McGrath, ‘Oxygen’ by Claire Ingleheart and Natalie McGrath, both rousing songs of determination the first sung here by the Suitcase Singers for International Women’s Day. The next video is a recording of The Ingleheart Singers singing ‘Oxygen’ in Truro Cathedral some years ago.
We bought this book for our LiveWires last Summer – a brilliant and inspiring read, Fantastically Great Women Who Changed the World by Kate Pankhurst, perfect for today.
Leaving Penryn today, I was amused by this house sign.

You didn’t sing in Truro? And what is the building in the first video? That’s great architecture.

No, I did the video. It was when I had had my hip done and wasn’t up to standing around for long. It was fun to watch and listen for once though. The building is an eco building with wind turbines on the roof and is called the Zed Shed. It is rather glorious to sing in there each week overlooking The Penryn River. 🙂
