It is, thank you, and the thaw has come here in Cornwall. I just heard on the news that helicopters are being used in Cumbria to air drop supplies to people still cut off by the snow……..
The Banana bread was delicious. The Blood orange buns less successful! 🙂

Oh poor Cumbria. They have suffered so much in recent years from floods and now this! My total baking efforts at the moment are fairy cakes with my granddaughter. We make them at least 3 times a week because she loves decorating them! Delicious but they are not good for my waistline!

Oh, I know what you mean! Our Grand children love to bake with me – and I with them – but eating them is not such a good idea! 🙂

That is a pretty but somewhat bleak picture.

NO heating… Brrrr – is this the gas shortage? I remember coming home in 1963 during that big freeze, and finding my parents huddling over a gas fire with no heat, wearing coats and dressing gowns over their coats!!! Hope you can keep warm…

Then we woke to no power! It was restored by 10.30 but it really makes you think about how some people cope…..

Same here, I know how it feels, I had no boiler on Tuesday , it was freezing. Hopefully it can be fixed.

We are all fixed now and hope you are too. Was yours a frozen condensate pipe too? We have 5 meters of it outside which took all day and more to thaw out. We’ve been hearing of so many people with this problem. Our outside pipe is now lagged! 🙂

Mine was the Pressure relief valve which lets the water in when the pressure is low. It didn’t close and I couldn’t add water. We played around on it and then it suddenly closed. I learnt a lot about my boiler. Not sure if it is to do with the weather, but we will put a plastic pipe in where the overflow is to the outside. Well it work and that is the main thing!
