After joining the NHS protest in Falmouth, we went off to Penzance to join the march in Solidarity with the many women all over the world protesting peacefully today (as I explained yesterday). We sang, we made our presence felt and we explained what we were doing to passers by. There weren’t many of us but we added to the global total! The blue tiles are from a shop front and the pavement slabs are also on Market Jew Street. We encountered the Mermaid welcoming customers into a shop in Hayle on the way home.

I didn’t get out to the march here in Toronto but there were about 8000. Spent the day with my granddaughter and my girls instead.

Just got an update on the number of marchers here in Toronto. It is estimated that somewhere between 50 000 and 60 000 were in attendance. It was great to see all the support world wide.

That’s wonderful. Hasn’t the response been amazing? I hope this is really the start of something good.

I GOOGLED “women’s march world” and was amazed how our, your Brexit and our election, “events” has spurred UNITY around the U.S. and World: London (100,000), New Zealand, Australia, Japan, PRAGUE, small communities (like the one you attended) to large cities (Los Angeles over 750,000)!!! We are not alone in our fears for the future but neither are we alone in gathering our voices to be heard, and to make us strong as a United World. A message was sent. There should also be more numbers for you in the London Times or Guardian.

P.S. I should have updated our Portland numbers: 100,000….same as London. Our MAX (train) and buses were packed shoulder to shoulder (like the tube at end of working day!) leading into the city and almost shut the system down because of the massive turnout. It was awesome!
