Cape Royal, Angel’s Window and Point Imperial

06 Sep

After catching the golden light of dawn, we set off really early to various viewpoints and walks driving through the Aspen filled forests where a big fire took all the trees and the Quaking Aspens are the first to come back.

The views were amazing and, as is my wont, the little beautiful things caught my eye too – a flame red flower, a bit of torn bark and some spider web thread catching the sunlight, pine needles and Aspen leaves reaching for the bluest of skies.

And the views!

Being so early we were alone in most of these gloriously quiet places, just the wind in the trees, some buzzing and some bird calls- otherwise a silence that felt so good for the soul.

Please forgive my not replying to comments at the moment. I get just a short time at the store to post before returning to our cabin in the woods! 🙂

The little red flower is called Indian paintbrush (Castilleja coccinea). You can’t help but love it!

Yes, I meant ragged, not rugged.
