Weekly Photo Challenge – Fun!

13 Aug

It has been great fun knitting this little cardigan with multi-coloured yarn and seeing how the stripes appear. It is fun too to imagine one of our expected twin Grand-babies wearing it. Now to get on with finishing off its pair, in the same yarn but turning out quite different which is also fun. This cardigan, like the others I am knitting has little mother-of-pearl buttons from the babies’ Great Great Grandfather, buttons on cards which I have inherited and treasured from my Grandad’s days as a button salesman. So, the buttons, being over 100 years old, are antiques!

Even a six month has to look ‘gooooooooooood’ when out an about. The colour spectrum will represented, as will be life -infant to hundred year old buttons. Your a poetic knitter, me thinks.

Oh how lovely! Jean is such a dear friend, she looked after me when I first joined The Inglehearts and we have been singing buddies ever since. I hope all goes well with your niece and her first baby. My birthday is New Year’s Eve – I’ll be thinking of her! 🙂

Love this little cardi, is there a pattern for this? As I would love to knit one for my niece who is expecting her first baby on New Years Eve .

Yes, there is. I will check out its number etc for you. It is a very neat one to knit as you start at one sleeve and end up at the other so there are fewer seams to sew up! 🙂

I tried to add a photo here but couldn’t so I have tagged it on to the end of my post. 🙂 if you do make it, I will pass on a couple of hints to make the finishing off neater – I adapted the pattern a bit! 🙂
