Cornflower, Sunflower and A Cliff Walk

25 Jul

We have lots of Cornflowers in bloom. I caught one with an unusual Bee on it.  This afternoon I went to visit Sue at her allotment. Her Sunflowers are very lovely and this evening we  walked to Wheal Coates watching the activity in the sky, hang gliders and Kestrels! Click on any photo in the gallery for more detail. The feathers on the Kestrels are just amazing!

Great photos. I particularly like the way you have captured the Kestrel hovering.

Thank you. We were lucky that it took him some time to find something to dive for! 🙂

I love cornflowers. I believe your cornflower’s visitor is one of the many species of hoverfly – Very Important Pollinators, just like bees. The kestrels are wonderful, aren’t they – beautiful feather markings. What a stunning coastline – fabulous 🙂

Aren’t we lucky? That coastline is just 12 minutes away!

Oh yes, indeed! A beautiful inspiring natural place right on the doorstep is just what we all need. I am glad for our woods for this reason too. 🙂

Lovely blog and photos! The insect on the cornflower is a type of hoverfly, very important pollinators (and they do not sting).
