Spider Crab, Bunch of Flowers and Friendship

24 Jun

While I was picking a bunch of flowers for a lovely friend whose birthday is tomorrow, I noticed a white and pink spider on the white and pink lupins. I took my photos and then identified it as a Crab Spider. Its legs are certainly very crab like. I have never seen one like it before.

Flowers for our beautiful friend which we delivered, along with some freshly made Strawberry Freezer Jam, this afternoon.
Despite our shared shock and sadness at the referendum result, we all found some smiles. Thank you N, G, T and K.

Thanks here too to J and M, also helping me find important things this last week.

We are still trying to take it in and are still hoping for some sense to prevail, probably in vain.

That is perhaps one of the most beautiful spiders I have ever seen!!! WOW! Thank you for capturing an image of her! I was sad to find my 3rd generation yellow garden spider Charlotte had been plucked from her web yesterday! So seeing one of her beautiful cousins cheers me up! Hope you are able to see my blog as you mentioned not being able to get to it: https://saymber.com/2016/06/24/24-june-2016-voice-of-fire-the-mothers-song-he-named-me-malala-2015-and-britain-leaves-the-eu/ love to you today.

We were fearful of the result beforehand but had every hope that we would stay within Europe. Thank you for your friendship across the borders. Love to you, dear Nia.

Here in Canada, we’re sad as well. Our son works in London on his EU passport and he is very worried about his job at the Victoria and Albert Museum. I’m sure he will be able to complete his contract but he was hoping to extend it when it came due. Amazing spider. I’ve never seen one like it.

So many ramifications, so many families worried. One of our daughters is investigating emigrating to Canada. Our son works in Spain, is married to a Senegalese girl and is considering taking Spanish citizenship if he can. It’s a mess and I am very saddened by the decision to leave.

Beautiful flowers and I love crab spiders, fascinating insects 🙂 Yeah, we’re just stunned over the referendum!! It’s a worrying time. Can’t believe so much of our country was taken in by all the brexit lies. They’re all in for a big shock when things don’t play out the way they’ve been led to believe they will!

Yes, Sarah, I agree and wonder how people will react when they realise how they have been duped. A very worrying time indeed.

People still don’t seem to have realised the ramifications! Nearly had a barny with my sister over trade agreements. She’s one of the many who seem to think that we’ll automatically get all the agreements we had or even better ones! I despair at times.

So do I – and when I hear comments like, “Oh, next year it will all be forgotten. You’ll be wondering what all the fuss was about!”
