I adapted a cake recipe today adding ginger rather than Lemon and it is scrumptious! I took some next door to share. The original was Lemon and Blueberry Streusel Cake – mine is Ginger and Blueberry Streusel Cake. It is particularly good served warm with ice-cream or cream.
The Christmas (!) Cactus is fully in flower and is gorgeous.
The low sun lights up our sun room, casting shadows and rainbows.

Bottom to top. Shadow, you have to know caught eye and imagination. Cacti; you share a knack for care with my mother, but I gave up years ago. The cake, the cake, the cake, takes the cake. Ginger and blue berries seems a perfect meld. Lemon, ginger and blue berries probably work as well? Do blue berries grow wild somewhere over there, as do here?

Oh, and the design on the plate – pleases my primitive eye.

sadly, blueberries don’t grow wild here but people do grow them in their garden. Hope all is well with you. 🙂

I don’t believe I’ve ever seen a Christmas cactus that color. It’s so delicately beautiful! Thanks for sharing!

I’m not a fan of the very pink ones so when I saw this, I just had to bring it home. This is its second season with us. 🙂

I hope the Christmas cactus we have looks half as good some day. Now . . . how about a slice of that cake!
