Blue Light Babies, Violas and A Walk

07 Sep

As I recover, I need things to do and I have started knitting for Blue Light Babies. This group is aiming to provide every ambulance in the country with little hats and blankets, especially for babies who are born under the blue light as they arrive in the world before arriving at the hospital. They have also asked for slightly bigger sizes for slightly older babies who need to travel under the blue light to get the help they need. One of my twins once had to travel from Yorkshire to Guy’s Hospital in London and the last part was a very frightening blue light ride.

I picked the last of the tiny Violas from our edible garden today so that we can sow winter salad leaves there – and maybe some winter flowering pansies….

I have walked over 100 yards this afternoon! I’m feeling much stronger and am itching to get going! It’ll be three weeks on Wednesday since my op was done and I’m feeling happy!

Sounds like your recovery is going swimmingly, Sally. I just suggested viola flowers to my son for his salads. He is skeptical. We will try Johnny Jump Ups, got a million of them!

They make a salad look very pretty! They don’t really taste of anything, unlike nasturtiums which are slightly peppery as well as pretty. 🙂
