Delicious Desserts, Pub Lunch and King Harry Ferry

28 Jun

Last night was our lovely friend, N’s, birthday party and what an array of delicious desserts were on offer. The curries, lasagne and salads were scrumptious too!

Our Best Beloveds are with us, my brother and SIL, from Atlanta USA and we are visiting lovely places and eating out more than usual. Today we went over the King Harry Ferry to meet them for lunch at a lovely old pub, The Roseland Inn in Philleigh.

Coming home through the lanes and driving down to the ferry, I thought you might like to come with us – especially for Shelagh and Calvin.

Not a big desert lover, but, and a big but at that, love cheesecake. Fact is, I cannot recall a cheesecake where I thought, ‘I could have done without that’. Your friend seems like a nice enough person, you can see it in the photograph. An infectious smile, then again if one were a desert lover, the sight of the goodies would make one smile. Sweets for a sweet I presume. Though the Kransekake, is new to me, and looks like it would be fun to play with as well as to eat.

The drive to King Harry Ferry -cool, and you got us there safe and sound (vicarious is the safest form of travel). Now that’s a pub. Reminds me of a few I went to in villages in Scotland. Dark beams, low ceilings, and great food I assume; an has in all likelyhood established before the New World was even an glimmer in the eye of France and England. And I see in another post you met the visiting Georgia peaches at another pub -hmmmm.

Good shtufffs, you. Tomorrow is Canada Day here , though am heading state side for a couple days, not as much fun as King Harry Ferry and The Roseland Inn in Philleigh.

Thank you for the lovely photos of our beloved King Harry Ferry :-). Shelagh, the chap on the ferry is Phileas, the one sitting near the slipway is Fogg.

Thank You, Sally! lovely pix of Big Blue. I just put a photo of her, from my 2012 trip, up on the Shetland on Camera group this weekend. I know that is confusing, but every weekend they allow photos from all over the world. Your dessert photos look good enough to eat. 😉
