Weekly Photo Challenge – Motion 2

28 Apr

Last Mid Summer Solstice, jumping the flames as part of the Mid Summer ritual. I love how the stripes are all blurry showing the speed with which the jump is made. What a joyful celebration it was!

Excuse my ignorance, but I never heard of jumping the flames before.

Its a pagan thing. We were with friends who have a stone circle on their land and everyone jumped the fire in the middle of the circle. It is supposed to ensure good health, good crops and wealth for the next year. 🙂

I must look out for a celebration like that and join in some day.

It is fun though I didn’t jump the fire last year. My new hip may allow me to this year! 🙂

It’s brilliant, thank you. I’m seeing the surgeon for a check up this afternoon. I hope he is as delighted with my progress as I am! 🙂

He was very pleased with my progress and is going to do Hip No 2 in September! Then I really will be all singing and dancing in time for Christmas! 🙂
