Always magical; glimpses of early-morning dew or fresh raindrops on leaves, flowers or spiders’ webs. The eclipse was magical, but equally wonderful was the return of colour after it drained away during the passage of the shadow. Even the birds stopped singing, and I needed an extra jacket despite the return of brilliant sunshine.
