Mother’s Day

15 Mar

It is Mothering Sunday here in the UK and I have been spoilt! Delicious croissants for breakfast, cards and presents, flowers and phone calls and a walk on the Great Flat Lode investigating some wonderful old industrial architecture (of which more in my next post) Click on any photo for more detail. I wish I could send you smells as well. The gorse smells of honey and the Daphne Odora is just intoxicating and is a scent and a plant that my own lovely Mum loved too.

I repeat here a message that a friend sent out last year and which I found very touching.
“A message of love and compassion to all friends out there on Mother’s Day who do not have their own children, to friends who are estranged from their children or their mothers and to friends who have lost treasured members of their family ... may you find unconditional love in unexpected places and a healthy channel for your own nurturing and creativity to help make the world around you a place where you feel cared for and are seen and known for who you are.” Thank you, Pip.

P.S. Does anyone else find the new posting page infuriating?

Happy Mothers Day! And I think the darker background brings out your beautiful pictures. Looks fine to me. 😉

I no longer know what is old and what is new with WP. 🙁 A surprise a day.

I love all the colour, we are way behind you, still in the snowdrop and crocus stage. That sounds like a perfect Mother’s Day.

Lovely images for Mother’s Day – I love primroses and the smell of gorse.

On the new posting page … I tried it but don’t often use it. I normally choose WP Admin on the right hand menu and it takes me to the good old Dashboard page where I can post in the old fashioned way!

Until today I have been doing that but didn’t seem to have the choice this evening. Hope I was mistaken! Will go to WP Admin and do as you suggest. Thank you! 🙂

ohhh! I hope they aren’t taking away the dashboard altogether! Hope it works for you again soon! 🙂

Just tried your way, going in via WP Admin and it worked! Hooray. However, when I looked at the preview and went back to continue writing I got the infuriating little beep boop and there we were again on the new one. Oh, well! 🙂 No response from WordPress yet.

Oh no! How irritating! Fingers crossed it is just a bug that can be soon sorted out!

I don’t know if you managed to resolve your WordPress editor issue, but when I saw this post reblogged by another blogger I follow, I thought of you! It is a method for forcing a redirect to the Classic Posting Editor on WordPress. My son tried it out and it seems to work … for now at least!

Thank you so much for this!! Brilliant. I shall tell others about the solution too. So many people unhappy, you’d think WordPress would at the very least put back the option to go back to Classic posting. Thanks again 🙂

Oh, I am so glad it is useful to you and yes, please do pass it on. It seems from what I have heard that WordPress do not intend reinstating a link to the Classic Editor despite there being a lot of us who are not at all keen on the new editor! You are very welcome 🙂

Apologies for the superfluous apostrophe. I DO know how to punctuate. Usually.

Nah, I’m forever putting my ignorance on display. I’ve grown used to it. But thanks!

The new page did bother me for awhile and I figured how to get back to the old format but I can’t do that anymore. I guess I’m getting used to it. I haven’t had the same problems as before.

It’s the tags and categories that I find most annoying! Until this evening I have been able to use the old way but that option seems to have gone:(

That’s true. I can’t see my categories beyond the letter C and the tags only show up when you start typing.

I have written to WordPress to expresss my disgruntlement! I’ll let you know what they say! 🙂
