My neighbour, Sue, has returned from the fabulous sounding International Bhutan Arts Festival and has posted these beautiful photos of their expedition to Buddha Point and The Tiger’s Nest. Click on any photo for more detail and the caption. Interesting that the litter notices are all in English.

Bhutan looks amazing! I love the litter signs … as you mention, interesting that they are all in English – are English speakers the main litter bugs, I wonder! I think we should definitely copy the rhyming signs idea – accentuating the positive reasons for not dropping litter.

Lovely pictures. When I was driving around Ireland I saw a sign that simply said ‘Beauty dies where litter lies’.

Perfect! I’m sure that kind of sign will be more effective than the usual admonitions about fines. 🙂

Fabulous pictures. I liked the rhyming notices: “Don’t litter It will make your life bitter.” Who would dare litter after these polite suggestions. 🙂
