1 This first photo may not look so beautiful but it represents me getting out into the garden for an hour and doing some tidy-up gardening so to me, it is beautiful!

2 There is lots of growth happening in the garden, from Snow-drops to green manure and daffodil shoots.

3 The Viburnum flowers have been there all winter and so have the little crab apples, just one un-withered left behind. The birds come to feed at this tree so I don’t suppose it will last much longer.

For a few days there has been hope that Kayla Muella might still be alive but today, confirmation of her death in Syria has come through. My heart goes out to all her family. Kayla was friends with my niece in Prescott, Arizona and my sister has written very movingly about her here. Click on the red link to read Daisy’s tribute and to see her painting in honour of Kayla.

Top to bottom, I ramble through your garden too.
The top is warming. She free at last. Sun shine. He in disbelief for it is winter after all. Green shoots, delicate blossoms and look over there is that not green grass. Can’t be.
The bottom cold and gloomy. The underlayer, horrendous, shocking, it shakes the world around, people fall off. Wonder how the cosmic gardener might tidy this dismal space up. Plant a flowering tree perhaps and watch a spirit grow back her branches, shelter for the innocence, then if the wind does it’s magic, a forest of peace one day. There has to be a way to spin bad into good. Has to be.

Margaret, as regards Kayla, yes, the sorrow is overwhelming. Didn’t know you have family who were close to her. So sorry, my dear.
As for the new life you have documented here, thanks for an early peek and a reminder that, yes, this winter will pass. In Wisconsin, we have precious little spring and summer, so we treasure the growing season all the more. Thanks for giving me a little spring fever. Take Care, Amy
