Sunrise

07 Jan

Just look at the beautiful sunrise that greeted me this morning!

When I was in the hospital there was a lovely young care worker who came in first thing, drew the curtains for us and said, “Just look at this lovely pink sky, ladies! It’s going to be a beautiful day!” Clearly a woman after my own heart.
Photo taken on iPad.

PS The post has just come and with it a long, lovely letter from a friend and colleague whom I haven’t seen for years. What a joy and such a beautiful thing, that over the years and the miles (she now lives in France) we remain close.

in a box, looking out. Two parcels, stacked one on top. Oh, look! The nurse brought candy. No better medicine then the sweet surprise of a ‘Turkish Delight’ sunrise.

I pretty much had the same reaction to your ipad glam shot as saymber. Hope the rehab is going along smooth.

Turkish Delight is my favourite. Thank you for this delightful comment, always seeing the surreal and making me smile. Rehab is going well, getting stronger every day. Will soon be a force to be reckoned with again!
I’m hearing that it is very very cold in your neck of the woods. Hope you can keep the chill at bay. 🙂

That sounded like a warning to those close at hand.

We’ve had a fairly mild winter thus fair where I live, -16C today but the wind chill tacks on more. It is the up and downs on the thermometer which can be wearing – wish a certain mother nature would make up it’s mind. With the Great Lakes not frozen over and the cooling temps and strong winds, some areas we’re in blizzard conditions. Yesterday we received a few cm of snow, mostly sunny and bone chilling cold. Where as, 50km west in the next county all secondary roads and major highways we’re closed due to zero visibility brought about by high winds pushing 90cm and plus of snow all about. No one really complains and am not about to brag as a wind direction has been predicted for later today and heavy snow squalls being talked about.

Now our neighbours south of the 49th can get a little whiny when the temp goes below norm.

Not much one can do about it. Just grin and put on more socks. I must confess to having a picture of Grenada on my dart board with a target date of sometime in March, so I just have to hang in there till then.

I love “cherry sunrises” as I call them. Never was there a finer art gallery than the one that is free to view if we just look up! 🙂
