Jay, Carnation and A Simple lunch

06 Apr

1   A beautiful Jay visited our bird table while we were having breakfast. That’s a first for us. His visit was too fleeting for a photograph.

2   The carnations from my Mother’s Day bouquet are still gorgeous – the Narcissi, sadly, long gone. I’ve cut them down and have them in my lovely brass bowl.  I had a beautiful bunch of pink carnations for our wedding. I still have pressed ones from that day in August 1967!

One perfect Carnation

3   A very simple and tasty lunch was what was needed today.

Delicious lunch! Like you I enjoy carnations – they are so beautiful. Although I also enjoy roses I was always happy when I got a dozen of carnations – something so elegant about them. Thanks for sharing and again I am glad you had a nice Mothers Day!

Fleeting anything is hard to photograph. Best to just enjoy the moment. Here, Blue Jays are a dime a dozen. Especially in early morning. I know how feel though, when the bird visitant is somewhat a stranger -feels like a privilege. A bright red Cardinal will make me smile every time.

Carnations, soft and delicate, even better that they hang around with that scent longer then any cut blossom that I know of. And their face loves a camera a lens -bit of a exhibitionist

I never have, but one of there days I want to make my own mozzarella. Lunch looked to good to eat. Then again, speaking for myself, looks have never stopped me.

It looks really tasty!!! We are going to try it as soon as we’ve got some basil growing in the balcony.
