Decorating, Owl Wood-stack and The Snow Dog

27 Nov

1   Decorating is making progress. It will be beautiful in time…….

2   This amazing picture of an immaculate wood-stack in the shape of an owl came my way recently. I can’t imagine actually using any of the wood.

3   I started knitting the Snow Dog months ago but have put off the sewing up, my least favourite part of making anything.  Today, in a break from painting the coving, I made a start. It’s hard!

It was in a magazine. I’ll see if I can find it. 🙂

I thought I’d seen some interesting wood stacks, but this one hits it out of the park. Wow. Thank you for sharing. 🙂

Fabulous isn’t it? I would love to have one like it but wouldn’t ever want to take a log out! 🙂

Snow dog -intriguing name, even more interesting that is clothing for for a baby. The knitting and sewing is pretty much a foreign concept, though I know enough to appreciate it has its challenges.

I have seen many a wood piles, but never one stacked with a painters touch. In the north, the die hards who heat with wood take their wood piles serious an show great pride in a well stacked pile with the best of wood. My brother is such a person. When i visited him this past summer, a trip to see 20 chord of neatly stacked birch was in order -can’t image him doing this but am going to suggest it if only to hear his reply.

How wonderful, Sally, I come by and see you STILL find 3 beautiful things each day! Just beautiful, in itself. But really, nothing beats those wee booties 🙂

Nope, there’s no way I could burn any of that wood – no matter how cold it got!

Your snow dog pieces are adorable, hope you’ll share the finished work. 🙂

I will do it but in short spells. It’s getting the face right and the angle of the ears so that it really looks like the one in the film – nothing less will do! Thank you for your encouragement. 🙂

But it’s very hard to sew up. Everything is so small. I was going to make three, one for each Grandchild – now I’m only going to make one, this year at least! 🙂

Hi there, I love the owl – I too would find it difficult to use the wood.
