1 Walking in Truro today, I first was struck by the overwhelming and sweet smell of honeysuckle and then saw this cheeky squirrel feeding from food left out for him or for birds – I wasn’t sure.

I like your egg rack too – I think you’ve shown pictures of it before. I have a little bowl of bird feed that I leave out just for the chipmunk that lives under our porch – he always looked so envious of the birds and the cat really enjoys sitting in the window and watching him fill his cheeks.

Yes, I have shown it before and loved this week’s eggs (such variety in size, colour and type) so much, had to show it again!
We saw chipmunks for the first time when we went to the Grand Canyon. What delightful little creatures they are! I would put out food for them too. 🙂

This was an exceptional year for honeysuckle. Love the squirrel photo and there is nothing better than free range eggs. Love the illustration too!

Why is a good question! The answer: because I like it! In fact, when I bought the ‘egg rack’ at an antiques fair, I was told it was a Welsh wooden spoon rack and I did use it for wooden spoons at first but I like the look of it with eggs on, so – it’s an egg rack! 🙂

Our honeysuckle is prolific this year. The blooms are orange on our plant.
I’m curious about the egg-curio cabinet. I’ve never seen that before. Tell me more about it.

We have an orange one in the garden, planted last year but are really disappointed with its lack of scent though the label says it should smell. Does yours?
I believe the ‘egg rack’ is in fact a Welsh wooden spoon rack but I like to keep eggs on it. It polishes up nicely and is a pretty thing to have in the kitchen. 🙂

No, our orange one doesn’t smell either. Too late to get my money back. The thing is big and pretty, tho.
Good use for the spoon rack. And, the eggs are each different. I thought maybe it was an old fashioned way of keeping track of the freshest and oldest eggs.

Honeysuckle is sweet ,,, too bad the wild variety here is a prolific grower … Meanwhile, gotta love a Friday night with music.
